Snowboarding and Skiing in Gulmarg, Kashmir

Gulmarg is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination and a notified area committee in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The town is situated in the Pir Panjal range in the Western Himalayas and lies within the boundaries of Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary.

Gulmarg lies in a cup shaped valley in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas, at an altitude of 2,650 m (8,694 ft), 56 km from Srinagar. Skiing and other winter sports in Gulmarg are carried out on the slopes of Apharwat peak at a height of 4,267 m (13,999 ft).
