May 24, 2025: Following Operation Sindoor Niti Aayog's 10th Governing Council meeting, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired here on Saturday, this is the PM's first significant meeting with the chief ministers of all states and lieutenant governors of UTs.
The Governing Council meeting's topic is "Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047."
All state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and a number of Union ministers are members of the council, which is the highest authority within Niti Aayog. Niti Aayog is chaired by Prime Minister Modi.
This is the prime minister's first significant gathering with state chief ministers and lieutenant governors of Union Territories since Operation Sindoor.
As part of his pledge to unite all states as "Team India" for a Viksit Bharat, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will preside over NITI Aayog's 10th Governing Council Meeting on May 24, 2025.
Niti Aayog had previously stated in a statement that "the Governing Council Meeting would debate the approach on Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat @2047."
The statement claims that the concept of Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat is an exhortation to states to create ambitious, inclusive, and long-term vision papers that are based on local circumstances while also being in line with national priorities.
It had stated that "time-bound aims must be a part of these visions."
The entire council meeting is typically conducted annually, and last year it took place on July 27.
The council met for the first time on February 8, 2015.
