May 27, 2025: In the men's 20-kilometer race walk event held here on Tuesday, Sebastian Sebastian opened India's account with a bronze medal, finishing in second place after China's Wang Zhaozhao and Japan's Kento Yoshikawa with a time of 1:21:13.60 seconds.

In the first event of the tournament, the 25-year-old finished on the podium with a time of 1:21:13.60 seconds, behind Wang Zhaozhao of China (1:20:36.90) and Kento Yoshikawa of Japan (1:20:44.90).

Sebastian's time came just short of his personal record of 1:21:23 for a gold medal at the Uttarakhand National Games in February earlier this year.

With a timing of 1:22:14.30, Amit, the other Indian competitor, came in fifth place.

India, which won 27 medals in the last edition, has sending a 59-person contingent to the competition.
