May 31, 2025: On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Border Security Force (BSF) for responding to Pakistan's attack following Operation Sindoor by demolishing 118 Pakistani installations in three days.
Shah claimed on his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir during the military operation against terrorists supported by Pakistan that the BSF had destroyed the enemy's surveillance network, delivering a serious blow that would take years for them to recover.
"The BSF jawans of the Jammu Frontier replied by destroying and damaging over 118 posts when Pakistan attacked our borders and civilian areas in response to our anti-terror operations," Shah stated.
The Home Minister went on to say, "They destroyed the enemy's whole monitoring system piece by piece – a system that will take them four to five years to reconstruct."
Shah reaffirmed the government's commitment to the welfare of the families impacted by the cross-border attacks by presenting them with government job appointment letters during the occasion.
Jobs and compensation, he continued, "reflect the nation's sentiments and solidarity, but they cannot replace lives lost."
In addition, he declared that a relief package to make up for the loss of Poonch's homes and businesses would soon be revealed. "With the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian government stands like a rock."

Regarding the latest terrorist assault in Pahalgam, Shah stated that swift action was taken in response to the despicable attack on defenseless pilgrims. Indian army killed hundreds of terrorists when they destroyed a terrorist organization inside Pakistan for the first time.
He continued by saying, "Pakistan's reply revealed to the world that it shields terrorism, exposing its own culpability."

Pakistan's communication and surveillance infrastructure had been hit the worst, Shah said, making them "incapable of fighting a full-fledged information-based war for quite some time."
"This demonstrates that you maintained a watchful eye even in times of tranquility... A detailed counter-strategy was devised well in advance, based on your exact intelligence. You successfully took advantage of the chance when it presented itself," Shah added.
"Our BSF jawans are the first to suffer the most in any type of attack on India's frontiers, whether it is planned or unplanned, covert or overt. However, they seldom stop to think about where the line is', he continued.
On behalf of the Indian government and people, Shah also conveyed his gratitude to the BSF soldiers. "We are all quite proud of the fact that the BSF is greeted with the same loud cheer as the Army."
Shah reaffirmed that BSF jawans' bravery and selflessness have won national acclaim and serve as a testament to India's unwavering commitment to security.
