Manchester [UK], July 18, 2025: Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will be aiming to join West Indies icon Sir Garfield Sobers as the only second visiting batter to score 1,000 runs or more in England while coming to bat at number six or lower as Team India prepares for the fourth Test at Manchester's Old Trafford Stadium.

India will be fired up heading into Manchester, hoping to make amends for a narrow 22-run loss while chasing 193 runs. Despite a commendable fight by the Indian lower order, particularly Jadeja, the series is 2-1 in England's favor. With 942 runs in 14 Tests at an average of 40.95 and a century and seven fifties in 27 innings, Jadeja is the second-highest run-getter among batters positioned 6-12 in England. His highest score was 104. He will join Sobers in the elite club with just 58 more runs, a feat that any world-class all-rounder would like to accomplish. Sobers is the best lower-order batsman to have played in England. In 11 Tests and 16 innings, he scored 1,097 runs at an incredible average of 84.38, including four centuries and five fifties. He was the best batter to play there. His best score is 174.
Jadeja is the fifth-highest run-getter in the series with half-centuries in his last four innings, with 327 runs in six innings at an average of 109.00 and a best score of 89. He has, on the other hand, not done much with the bat; he has only taken three wickets at an average of over 110. Jadeja scored 7,000 international runs in the previous match. He now has 7,018 runs in 361 matches and 302 innings, an average of 33.41, including four centuries and 39 fifties. His highest mark is 175*. Tests remain by far his best format, with 3,697 runs in 83 Tests at an average of 36.97, with four centuries and 26 fifties and a best score of 175*.
Starting on July 23, Manchester will host the fourth Test. Shubman Gill (captain), Rishabh Pant (vice captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Ar Ben Stokes (captain), Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Josh Tongue, and Chris Woakes make up the England team for the fourth Test against India.
