REASI, July 18, 2025: Jugal Kishore Sharma, a member of parliament, presided over the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting today to assess the district's ongoing development projects and progress in implementing Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs). DDC Chairperson Saraf Singh Nag, MLA Reasi Kuldeep Raj Dubey, MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Baldev Raj Sharma, Vice Chairperson DDC Sajra Qadir, Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik, SSP Paramvir Singh, ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, and other district and sectoral development department officers attended the meeting. Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik, who also serves as the Member Secretary of DISHA, began the meeting with a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation that highlighted the district's physical and financial progress under flagship schemes and major developmental initiatives. The progress of important infrastructure projects, such as the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, BMG Road, RAM Road, and other centrally sponsored initiatives, was reviewed by MP Jugal Kishore. In order to guarantee that beneficiaries receive services on time, he instructed officials to complete the objectives within the allotted time frame. He emphasized the necessity of expediting the completion of all projects and ensuring that allocated funds were utilized appropriately. He directed officials to take prompt action on all suggestions discussed during the meeting and to address the issues raised effectively. In order to guarantee that development projects would be finished on time, he advocated for an interdepartmental approach of collaboration. In addition, he instructed officials to give priority to resolving the issues that were brought up during the meeting by the DDC Chairperson, MLAs, and other members. In order to improve service delivery, he emphasized the significance of collective field visits by officials and public representatives. The MP emphasized PM SHRI, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, integrated watershed, and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in particular and directed implementation to be accelerated while high quality standards were maintained. He also emphasized that this region is now poised for rapid growth and development in light of the recent visit of the Prime Minister and the opening of the Vande Bharat train that connects the Kashmir Valley. Tourism is expected to rise, new business opportunities will emerge, and access to the region will significantly improve as a result of this historic connectivity. Jugal Kishore Sharma reiterated the vision of the Indian government and emphasized the significance of interdepartmental synergy and collaboration with public representatives to eliminate roadblocks and accelerate development, particularly in rural and border regions.
