
July 30, 2025: A senior official stated that heavy rain in Kashmir caused authorities to suspend the Amarnath Yatra on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes on Wednesday. On its X handle, the Department of Information and Public Relations of Jammu and Kashmir stated, "Shri Amarnathji Yatra has been suspended for 30.07.2025 from both Pahalgam and Baltal base camps." It stated that the yatra has not been permitted on the tracks from Baltal and Nunwan/Chandanwari base camps as a result of heavy rain since early Wednesday morning, according to Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner for Kashmir. Over 3.93 lakh pilgrims have visited the sacred cave shrine thus far. The yatra shall remain suspended from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp on Thursday.
“Due to the heavy rains in the yatra area, the movement of pilgrims from base camps has been affected. According to the DIPR, "it has been decided that no convoy movement shall be allowed towards the base camps Baltal and Nunwan on July 31, 2025 from Bhagwati Nagar Jammu."
