July 30, 2025: The mythological animated film Mahavatar Narsimha, directed by Ashwin Kumar, continues to gain steam at the box office, earning a respectable Rs 29.35 crore India net in just five days. As reported by Sacnilk, after a modest start with Rs 1.75 crore on Friday, the film showed remarkable growth over the weekend, and peaked with a collection of Rs 9.5 crore on Sunday. Despite a slight dip on Monday, Tuesday’s estimated Rs 7.50 crore collection indicated a strong word-of-mouth and repeat viewership.
Crowds grow, occupancy rises:
The increasing occupancy rates in key regions are one of the most striking trends. The Telugu version (3D) registered a robust 57.28% overall occupancy on Tuesday, with Hyderabad and Bengaluru recording particularly strong numbers. The night shows witnessed an uptick, suggesting growing interest through the day. In the meantime, the Hindi 2D and 3D versions also showed encouraging signs. Hindi 3D had a 55.37% occupancy rate, and evening and night shows in major cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Kolkata had near-peak numbers. As time goes on, it becomes abundantly clear that the film's grand visual spectacle and devotional message are attracting a large number of viewers.
A story beyond box office:
For many, Mahavatar Narsimha is more than just a movie; it's a spiritual journey. The story is based on the Vishnu and Bhagavata Puranas and reimagines Lord Vishnu as a fierce incarnation who appears to defeat evil and restore equilibrium. This movie offers a return to timeless values like faith, humility, and dharma in an age of commercial storytelling. What’s more impressive is how it brings those ideals to life through cutting-edge animation and powerful symbolism.
As the film nears the end of its first week, industry insiders predict that the film will comfortably cross the Rs 50 crore mark in its first week if this trend holds.
