July 31, 2025: Congress party leaders on Wednesday distributed cheques as part of the financial aid promised by senior party leader Rahul Gandhi to the children, who were orphaned during Pakistani shelling during Operation Sindoor in Poonch.

"Honoring the sacrifices of the families of those affected in Poonch, the J&K Congress team distributed cheques to 30 deserving school-going children at Dak Bungalow, Poonch," the Congress party wrote in a post on X.

The event was led by Party UT chief Tariq Hamid Karra, and numerous other leaders were present, including Indian Youth Congress president Uday Bhanu, Party J&K working president Raman Bhalla, and AICC secretary Mohd Shahnawaz Choudhary.
