Aug 13, 2025: Tarun Chugh, BJP national general secretary and J&K BJP Prabhari, stated that the most recent action taken by the State Investigation Agency (SIA) in the heinous murder of Kashmiri Pandit nurse Sarla Bhat is evidence of the undying dedication of the Narendra Modi-led Central Government to pursuing accountability and justice.

According to Chugh, the 1990 forced exodus of over 1,60,000 Kashmiri Pandits was the direct responsibility of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the Union Home Minister at the time, and Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah. It was a dark period when a climate of terror was created in the Valley and innocent lives were taken and today the same dynastic and family driven parties the NC, PDP and Congress are leaving no stone unturned to spread discomfort and chaos in Jammu and Kashmir once again.

Chugh said, “This is the new India, the India of PM Narendra Modi. There is no curfew or stone-pelting in the Valley today. This action is a clear and strong message to those forces that created an atmosphere of terror and fear that no one will be spared now.”

He said that Modi is determined to protect the Kashmiri Pandit community's dignity, safety, and justice. According to Chugh, this is the new India, where the guilty will be punished and the victims will receive justice.
