Aug 18, 2025: An official said on Monday that more than 100 employees of a film unit have been hospitalized because of food poisoning, and that their condition is stable. He stated that the patients complained of severe abdominal pain, a headache, and vomiting when they were brought to the SNM hospital late on Sunday.

A forthcoming Bollywood film was being shot in Leh by the workers, none of whom were locals. The location served meals to approximately 600 people. The official stated, "The food samples were picked up for detailed analysis." A doctor at the hospital said it is a case of food poisoning.

The doctor said, "After receiving the information, we mobilized all our staff from all the departments and managed the situation effectively." He also said that the police were called in to help manage the panic-like situation in the emergency ward, which was too full. He stated that all of the patients' conditions were stable and that the majority of them had been discharged.
