Aug 20, 2025: SUV sales have picked up momentum in recent times, and this has helped Mahindra cement its position as the second-best-selling carmaker in India for a few months now. Despite strong YoY growth over the past few months, Mahindra has not been able to surpass Hyundai as the best SUV seller.

In comparison to their sales in July 2024, the following are the five SUVs that sold the most in July 2025.

The Hyundai Creta, which is also Hyundai's best-selling vehicle, was the best-seller in July. Hyundai saw sales of 16,898 units in July 2025, but the automaker saw a 3% year-over-year decline in sales. As a point of reference, Hyundai sold 17,350 Cretas in July 2024. With 14,065 sales in July 2025, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza comes in second.

Similar to the Creta, the SUV Maruti Suzuki Brezza has experienced a 4% decline in year-over-year sales. 14,676 vehicles were sold by Maruti Suzuki in July 2024.

The third vehicle is the Mahindra Scorpio, which has long been the company's best-selling model. Last month, Mahindra sold 13,747 units, which represents a 12% increase from the 12,237 units sold in July 2024. The Mahindra Scorpio includes the sales of the Scorpio N and the Scorpio Classic.
