July 21, 2025: Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, reiterated on Sunday his administration's commitment to establishing a lasting peace in the Union Territory, stressing that justice and perseverance are the only things that can buy peace. We must work together to fight drug addiction, terrorism, and its ecosystem. It is my firm resolve to eliminate the entire network responsible for radicalising youth, supplying weapons, providing funding, and assisting terrorists,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He emphasized that the administration adheres to a definite policy, which reads, "Don't touch the innocent and do not spare the guilty." The civil and police administration is committed to delivering justice to the families of victims of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. We are determined to eliminate each and every terrorist and their entire network of backers. At the "Pedal Through Paradise" Cycle Race-2025 felicitation ceremony held in Srinagar by the J&K Police, the Lieutenant Governor gave a speech. L-G Sinha felicitated the winners and praised the enthusiasm and spirit of unity displayed by the participants. During the event, more than 5,500 cyclists from all over the country competed in ten different categories. In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor expressed gratitude to the members of the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their selfless efforts to maintain peace and advance the Union Territory. "The J&K Police are an example of selfless service, duty, and sacrifice," the statement reads. According to him, "its valiant personnel's supreme sacrifices have strengthened national unity, established peace, sparked new hope, and propelled J&K toward an era of progress and prosperity," and "its legacy is written in the blood of its brave personnel." The J&K Police's innovative Civic Action Programme, which aims to foster new dreams, instill confidence, and generate fresh aspirations among the youth, was also praised by the Lieutenant Governor. “Pedal Through Paradise is a symbol of the new Jammu and Kashmir as well as a sporting event. It sends a strong message to our youth to choose the path of progress over violence and drug addiction,” he remarked.
L-G Sinha urged young people to help build a Jammu and Kashmir that is free of terrorism, free of drugs, and physically fit. The L-G said that the vision of "Naya," or "new Jammu and Kashmir," is not just a slogan, as some people claim, referring to the transformation that has taken place in Jammu and Kashmir over the past few years. Pens have replaced stones in the hands of youth in the new J&K. Schools and colleges remain open year-round, and hartal and bandh calendars have been replaced by the calendars of national and international events,” he said.
"Our youth are setting new standards in research and innovation. They are concentrating on new business ventures and startups. “The fusion of factories and new vibes of life have replaced the slogans of separatism,” Sinha added. Pointing to the violence in Kashmir in the last few decades, the L-G said Pakistani terrorists have spilled blood of innocent citizens of J&K, and many families lost their loved ones to terrorism. Pakistan ordered the deaths of thousands of people. But in most cases, not even FIRs were registered,” he said.
Sinha stated that the fear of terror ecosystem kept people silent. We have begun a process to alter that circumstance. An initiative to provide families with justice has been launched by the civil and police administrations.
On July 13, job appointment letters from the government were sent to 40 families of Baramulla terror victims. “It is ironic for J&K that jobs were provided to terrorists or those linked to terror, but that Pakistani terrorism's youth or families were left to fend for themselves. However, their empowerment is now guaranteed. In the coming days, this process of delivering justice will continue," he added. Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary of the Home Department, Special Director General (Coordination) SJM Gillani, ADGP Armed Police Anand Jain, ADGP Headquarters MK Sinha, and IGP Kashmir VK Birdi, among other senior officials, attended the event.
